THERES IS/THERE ARE or HAVE/HAS

Por exemplo: “I (sujeito) have a TV in my bedroom.”

Mas o quando o verbo ter tem o sentido de existir usamos o THERE IS / THERE ARE.

Example: “There is a TV in my bedroom.”(singular) ou "There are two TVs in my bedroom.” (Plural).

Is that all right?
Então NÂO quero mais ouvir ninguém dizendo: has a TV is my bedroom...

Please, never say that again. It’s terrible English.
Agora vamos a prática.
I will describe the pictures below using there is / there are.

I live in a big apartment. There are four bedroom, a living room, a dining rooma kitchen and three bathrooms. There is also a balcony and a laundry. There is an elevator in the building and also a staircase. I usually don’t use the elevator, I prefer to use the stairs. It’s a good way to do exercise. By the way, I live on the tenth floor. There are seventeen floors in my building.
Now it’s your turn. Describe the bedroom below.

Next post: negative and interrogative with THERE TO BE and more exercises.
Have a good one.

Kitchen and some other stuff

Bom, para aqueles que não acharam ou ficaram com preguiça (you lazy guys) de achar What’s in the kitchen. Aí vai:

freezer
refrigerator / fridge
cabinet
stove
microwave
toaster
coffee maker
food processor
dishwasher (What's that dog doing there?)
And now : Where do you find the following?
a pillow?
a blanket?
a sheet?
a laddle?
a fork?
a knife?
a spoon?
a towel?
a bowl?
a plate?
a cup?
a saucer?

By the way: How do you call this in English?

Next post: o verbo haver em inglês: THERE IS / THERE ARE
See you there.

HOUSING / MORADIA

HOUSES APARTMENTS AND BUILDINGS

Hoje e nos próximos dias vamos falar de moradia: HOUSING, partes de uma casa, móveis (FURNITURE) e do verbo existir em inglês (THERE IS / THERE ARE)

Vamos começar pelo básico. Existem (there are) dois tipos de moradia.

You can live in a HOUSE

or in an APARTMENT.
E um conjunto de apartamentos formam um BUILDING.
Claro que existem outros tipos de moradias, mas vamos ficar com os mais comuns.

Parts of the house or apartment

Living-room
Bedroom
Bathroom
Dining room
Kitchen
Closet
Laundry
Balcony
Basement (usually in a house)
Attic (usually in a house)
Garden
Backyard
In building you have many floors. The building ilustrated below (abaixo) has 6 floors.
A house can have one or two floors.
If the house has two floors, you have:
upstairs downstairs

Bom, no próximo vamos falar de tudo que existe em uma casa.

Now tell me: DO YOU LIVE IN A HOUSE OR IN AN APARTMENT?

SEE YOU GUYS
